Jensen Hockey Services is headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, serving hockey players of all ages and skill levels in southern Florida. Jensen Hockey Services offers players and coaches the newest training trends and philosophies in hockey. All services, including lessons, evaluations, seminars, assessments and tutor sessions are conducted exclusively by former NHL player, Steve Jensen. Steve is a full-time teaching professional with 30 years of instruction experience, including 12 years of experience playing International and NHL hockey. As a player, Steve was a member of 5 U.S. National Hockey Teams, including the Gold Medal Team that won the 1983 World Ice Hockey Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Steve has also served as the Owner and the Executive Director of the Heartland Hockey Camps for the past 21 years. At the college level, he was a participant in 2 NCAA Championship games, helping win the National Championship in 1975 while playing at Michigan Tech University. For two consecutive years, Steve was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. As a member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team, he led the team in goal scoring with 52 goals. He started his professional career in his hometown, playing three years with the Minnesota North Stars. Then, he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings, where he played 4 more years and became the fifth American in NHL history to score more than 100 career goals. Steve also has extensive experience in International hockey both as a player and a coach. Steve has served as a coach in the USA hockey program during the 1978 U.S. Sports Festival and the 1990 & 1993 U.S. Sports Festivals. During the 1995 & 1996 season, Steve served as assistant coach to the University of Wisconsin-Stout Varsity Team. In addition, he served as a player/coach for the 1983 U.S. National Team. He also spent four years playing and coaching in the professional leagues of Switzerland & Austria. Through Steve’s extensive research, travel, studies and coaching experience, all clients of the Jensen Hockey Services can be assured of a unique, challenging and rewarding training experience. My Wide Variety Of Unique Training Devices Through my personal research & development, travel and coaching experience, I will introduce my clients to the newest training trends in the instructional hockey industry. In order to enhance, develop and improve hockey skills, I will utilize several high-tech, unique & innovative training devices such as;
Private Lessons: The private lessons are designed to improve individual hockey skills for players of all ages. These sessions are a one on one ratio and can be in duration of 60-90 minutes. The rate is $50.00 per hour session. Training formats will be designed according to individual requests and desires. Typical sessions are one hour in duration. Semi-Private Lessons: The semi-private lessons are available to groups of 2- 5 players. Players of all ages and skill levels are eligible. Emphasis will be placed on all individual hockey skills including skating, passing, stickhandling, shooting & checking. I offer reduced rates for small groups as follows; • 3 players/$25.00/hour/per player • 4 players/$20.00/hour/per player • 5 players/$18.00/hour/per player GROUP & TEAM LESSONS: These sessions vary in size from 6-10 players or 11-20 players. Group/Team lessons will include both individual & team play strategies. Team play strategies such as odd man rushes, power plays, penalty killing, cycling the puck, defensive coverage and offensive attacks will be evaluated and reviewed. My rate for 6-10 players is $125.00 per session and each session is one hour in duration. The rate for 11-20 players is $150.00 per session and each session is one hour in duration. Seminars & Tutoring For Coaches: This program is designed for coaches who desire to expand their knowledge and understanding of the sport of hockey. You will also learn valuable coaching techniques and you will be introduced to unique concepts that can be used when teaching the game of hockey to your players. All coaches will be presented with a handbook, which will include a multitude of new drills, concepts and philosophies. The rate for these sessions is $100.00 per hour.
